2016 Season (Week 2)

Schedule for 8/22-8/27
Monday (8/29)
     *AM:  8:00 at RHS Track (Sophomores, Juniors, & Seniors)
     *PM:  3:00 at RHS Track (Bring Spikes)

Tuesday (8/30)
     *AM:  6:30 in Gym Foyer
     *PM:  2:45 in Coach Bartlett's Room (2260)

Wednesday (8/31)
     *AM:  6:30 in Gym Foyer
     *PM:  3:00 at RHS Track (Bring Spikes)

Thursday (9/1)
     *AM:  6:30 in Gym Foyer
     *PM:  3:00 at RHS Track

Friday (9/2)
     *AM:  6:30 in Gym Foyer
     *PM:  2:00 at RHS Track

Saturday (9/3)
     *8:00 AM at RHS Track w/team and family breakfast to follow

AM Practices
Athletes will have access to locker rooms in the gym to shower after their morning practice.  Towels will be provided.  Anything else athletes need should be brought from home.  A cabinet in Coach Bartlett's room, 2260, will be provided for athletes to store bags and practice equipment for the day. 

Time Trial
Saturday we will be holding a 2.0 mile team trial followed by a team and family breakfast.  Each grade is responsible for the following:
     *Freshman:  Bagels & favorite spread
     *Sophomores:  Fruit
     *Juniors:  Juice
     *Seniors:  Muffins

Team Apparel Order:
Orders for team t-shirts and warm-up tops are due by 9/1.  Flyers are available on track shed counter.

Pasta Feeds:
We are looking for some families to host pasta feeds the night before meets this upcoming season.  It can be combined or families can host the boys or girls teams.  Families will sometimes co-host feeds as well.  Anyone interested please email or text Coach Bartlett with dates you are interested in hosting.

Runners Soul Spike Day
On Wednesday, August 24th, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Runners Soul (5020 W. Clearwater Ave. Kenewick) will be having a "spike day."  This is a great time to get new shoes, spikes, or other running apparel with door prizes and snacks throughout the day.

Summer Conditioning for Week of 8/15 to 8/21

One week down, 1 more to go until the start of the 2016 season!  Don't relax this week and keep working hard.


Fall Sports Clearance Night is Thursday the 18th at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria.  Your attendance is required.


The girls team is going to be having a party to kick off the 2016 season.
     What:  Dinner and a movie.  Please bring your favorite movie snack.
     When:  Friday August 19th, at 6:00 pm
     Where:  Braydin Henderson's House (Head west on Keene, right on Belmont, left on Onyx, right                         on Obsidian Court.  Her house is the one on the very end of the cul-de-sac, 6883)

If you haven't already gotten your physical and paperwork taken care of, please do so this week.  It is also highly recommended to get a full blood work up including getting your ferritin checked.  Many distance runners tend to have low ferritin without knowing it.  This can affect your performance and overall health.

Athletes are expected to run on their own in the mornings this week.  Athletes will be meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 pm at the RHS track this week.  First official day of practice is Monday, August 22nd.

Summer Conditioning for Week of 8/8 to 8/14

One week down, 2 more to go until the start of the 2016 season!  Keep up the good work.  Keep challenging yourself and keep planting the seeds for a great xc season!  


It is also time to start scheduling your physical so you are ready for the start of the season.  It is also highly recommended to get a full blood work up including getting your ferritin checked.  Many distance runners tend to have low ferritin without knowing it.  This can affect your performance and overall health.

I will post the date and time for fall sports clearance night when it becomes known.  

Returning athletes are organizing practice this week.  They will be meeting at 7:00 am Monday-Friday at the RHS track. They will also be meeting Monday and Thursday evening at 7:00 pm.
