Week #11 10/30-11/4

Congratulations to our mens and womens team this weekend in Spokane with their 3rd and 5th place finishes respectively.  The boys team of Riley Moore, Anthony Stone, Jesse Todd, Chris Nilsen, Patrick Workman, Ryle Hollick, and Tim Nilsen punched their ticket to the state meet for the first time since 2013 andonly the third time since 1995.  Riley Moore just missed a course record in becoming Richland's 5th regional champ (Michael Williams 2013 and Lindsey Bradley 2012-2014).  The boys team will compete at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.  Race time is 2:30 pm.

The girls team of Katie Andrus, Emma Summers, Bailee Carr, Sophia Fetrow, Kara Lee Edvalson, Andrijana Fundak, and Madi Carr placed a very respectable 5th place only 3 points out of 4th.  Huge improvement from their 9th place finish the year before.  Katie and Emma will be representing the girls team at the state meet, but all of our girls will be honored and recognized as the 4A cross country state academic champs as well with their 3.992 cumulative GPA!  The girls race time is 1:00 pm.

State tickets at $10 for adults and $8 for students w/ASB.  No credit cards accepted.

Attached is a link for those athletes who wish to purchase their state meet apparel before Friday/Saturday.

Athletes need to make sure they are taking care of the little things (sleep, diet, etc) to ensure a healthy and productive season.  Take care of still drinking water as the weather begins to cool.  You still need to hydrate.

8th Week 10/9-10/15

Great job by our athletes this week at the Max Jensen Richland Invitational on Saturday!  A 6th place finish by our girls and an 8th place finish by our boys in loaded fields was awesome.  A second place finish by our junior/senior boys and a 5th place finish by our JV girls got the day off to a good start.  Huge breakthroughs and PR's by many of our athletes on a very fast day of racing.  A huge shout-out to our parents/students who helped throughout the day.  I received nothing but compliments regarding the meet throughout the day.  It is because of the help our program receives that makes it such a great meet and why teams come back year after year.  If parents that worked have any ideas or suggestions for next year, please let me know.
